OmSyncer is an Android app for syncing blood pressure monitor measurements to your Android device. OmSyncer does not create user accounts, does not show ads, does not use analytics, and does not send your personal or health data to the developer's servers.
Health data processed by OmSyncer
OmSyncer may access, collect, and store the following health-related data on your device:
- Blood pressure measurements
- Pulse measurements
- Measurement timestamps
- Monitor user number associated with a measurement
- Omron-specific measurement flags, such as irregular heartbeat and movement
OmSyncer processes this health data only to provide app features such as syncing measurements from a supported monitor, showing them in the app, exporting them, and optionally writing blood pressure and pulse records to Health Connect.
Other data processed by OmSyncer
OmSyncer may also store the following non-health data on your device:
- Selected monitor model and bonded Bluetooth device information needed for syncing
- App preferences, such as Health Connect export and background sync settings
- Sync logs and sync captures you generate for troubleshooting
This information stays on your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
How OmSyncer uses data
OmSyncer uses your data only to provide the following functions:
- Sync measurements from a paired Bluetooth blood pressure monitor
- Store and display measurements locally in the app
- Filter measurements by user and date range
- Export measurements as CSV files when you request it
- Write blood pressure and pulse records to Health Connect when you enable or trigger that feature
- Remove matching Health Connect records when you delete locally stored measurements and that deletion is synced
- Run optional nearby/background sync features when you enable them
- Generate logs or sync captures for troubleshooting
Health Connect
If you grant Health Connect permission, OmSyncer may write blood pressure and pulse records to Health Connect.
OmSyncer does not import or read Health Connect health records. It only writes blood pressure and pulse data, and may request deletion of matching Health Connect records when you delete measurements locally.
Data sharing
OmSyncer does not automatically share your personal or health data with the developer or other third parties.
Data may leave your device only when you choose to do one of the following:
- Export a CSV file
- Export a sync log or sync capture
- Share exported files with another app
- Grant permission for OmSyncer to write data to Health Connect
Permissions
OmSyncer may request Android permissions such as Bluetooth access to connect to your monitor and sync measurements. If you enable nearby/background sync, the app may also request Bluetooth scan permission as required by Android.
These permissions are used only for app functionality on your device.
Data retention
OmSyncer stores synced measurements and related app data on your device until you delete them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
- Active measurements stay in the Results screen until you delete them.
- Deleted measurements may remain in OmSyncer’s Deleted measurements section until you restore them, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.
- Sync logs and sync captures remain on your device until you clear app storage, uninstall the app, or delete exported copies yourself.
- Exported CSV, log, or capture files remain wherever you saved them until you remove them there.
- Health Connect records written by OmSyncer remain in Health Connect until they are deleted in Health Connect or removed by OmSyncer during a later deletion/export flow.
OmSyncer does not have a cloud backend, so the app does not keep server-side copies of your data.
How to delete your data
You can delete data from OmSyncer in the following ways:
- Remove all locally stored OmSyncer data by clearing the app's storage in Android settings.
- Remove all locally stored OmSyncer data by uninstalling the app.
You can delete data outside the app in the following ways:
- Delete exported CSV, log, or capture files from the location where you saved them.
- Delete OmSyncer-written records from Health Connect inside Health Connect, or by deleting the corresponding local measurements and then completing the Health Connect deletion/export flow when available.
Children's privacy
OmSyncer is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated in future app releases. Any changes will be reflected in the updated policy text and date above.
